We're hearing it over and over again: God and Jesus are pro-vaccine, and to be Christ-like, we need to fall in line.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul spoke to an audience in Brooklyn last Sunday and had this to say:
I prayed a lot to God during this time and you know what, God did answer our prayers. He made the smartest men and women, the scientists, the doctors, the researchers — he made them come up with a vaccine. That is from God to us and we must say, ‘Thank you, God. Thank you.'
I need you to be my apostles. I need you to go out and talk about it and say, ‘We owe this to each other. We love each other.’ Jesus taught us to love one another and how do you show that love but to care about each other enough to say, ‘Please get the vaccine because I love you and I want you to live?
John L. Micek, Editor of Pennsylvania Capital-Star, published this in August:
From the time they’re children, most Americans are taught there’s no higher good than loving their neighbor....when you tell people that getting vaccinated allows them to live out one of the core tenets of Christianity the message tends to resonate.
When he’s been out on the stump, President Biden (along with his lieutenants) has pitched getting vaccinated as the selfless, patriotic thing to do.
The new polling data show there’s a role for America’s religious leaders — regardless of sect or creed — to play from the pulpit as well.
The priest at my parish assumed this role and told us he was praying we'd all take the vaccine.
They're hitting us pretty hard with this message. But are people really falling for it? 'Cause let's face it: “Do x because God said so” is the lamest trick in the book.
The problem in this instance is that the 'God' and 'Jesus' they speak of bear no resemblance the God and Jesus of Scripture.
The 8th Commandment
If we know anything about the God of The Old and New Testament, it'd be the Ten Commandments that he gave to Moses on Mt. Sinai after he'd delivered the Israelite from slavery in Egypt: the tenants upon which his Chosen People were to live thier lives and base their society.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us: “The gift of the Commandments is the gift of God himself and his holy will. In making his will known, God reveals himself to his people.” (2059)
That is to say, the Ten Commandments show us unmistakeable characteristics of God. The 8th of these commandments is:
You shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor. (Exodus 20:16)
Simply put, don't lie. The Catechism fleshes out how this commandment applies in the realm of the state and media:
Nothing can justify recourse to disinformation for manipulating public opinion through the media. (2498)
Moral judgement must condemn the plague of totalitarian states which systematically falsify the truth, exercise political control of opinion through the media and.....imagine they secure their tyranny by strangling and repressing everything they consider "thought crimes". (2499)
K, so what's wrong, then, about conflating the God of Scripture, who condemns misinformation and falsification, with the vaccine?
It's that the entire vaccine narrative is founded on obfuscation of scientific data and outright lies.
They're then using this fictional narrative to mandate, shame and cajole us into practicing charity. There is a little old lady who might die if you don't take the vaccine.
Their House of Cards
The vaccine narrative, simply put, is this: the vaccine is the elixir to this heinous pandemic. It's the sole solution. And it's totally safe.
A narrative with such a flagrant lies and misrepresentations that it takes just a few small nudges for it to totally collapse.
Yarn Spinners at the FDA
As I stated in my last post, The Food and Drug Administration's EUA for Vaccines to Prevent Covid-19 states on page 3:
FDA may issue an EUA after FDA has determined that the following statutory requirements are met:
There is no adequate, approved, and available alternative to the product for diagnosing, preventing, or treating the disease or condition.
The scientific evidence that ivermectin alone is a more than adequate solution for treating covid is overwhelming and irrefutable. Consider Dr. Pierre Kory's studies, Theresa Lawie's Systematic Review, and the other 65 studies conducted with over 45,000 patients, all of which conclude that ivermectin used in early-treatment significantly reduces hospitalizations and deaths.
So what is the FDA really doing approving this experimental vaccine? Talk about heinous irresponsibility and deception. They know damn well there's another--much safer--solution for treating covid. The evidence is staring them in the face.
Only Exit Ramp: Vaccine
These tellers of tall tales persistently claim that the vaccine is the central solution to ending pandemic. Biden recently said we can get back to normal when 98% of the population is vaccinated.
Yet, again, the evidence overflows that we have numerous alternative treatments to reduce hospitalizations and deaths. In addition to ivermectin, over 20 other drugs and vitamins, in over 980 studies, have demonstrated to be, (and I'll go ahead and steal this phrase from Biden & the CDC), “safe and effective”.
The perpetuation of this mantra that vaccines are the only way out is clearly using disinformation to manipulate public opinion.
Repeat, Only Exit Ramp: Vaccine!
Not only are they refusing to acknowledge these data on alternatives the vaccine, but they're systematically obscuring and silencing any knowledge of this information in an overt political control of public opinion.
This Twitter account for C19early.com, which shares all of the scientific studies on early-treatment drugs, has been suspended. And ivermectin cannot be discussed in YouTube, unless it's in videos like this one that dismiss the evidence supporting it.
Plus, we're deluged with misinformation about ivermectin. The FDA, cooperating with Big Tech, are propagating the absurdity that it's used exclusively for horses, when the facts are that people use it all the time and it's perfectly safe.
Consider this data about ivermectin, related by Dr. Pierre Kory:
3.7 billion doses have been administered since it was developed since 1987. Over 60% of Sub-Sahara Africa takes it on a yearly basis. It has an unparalleled safety profile with almost no side effects...You cannot come up with a credible argument to not use it.
Then consider this tweet from the FDA:

An explicit lie, coming right from a government agency. Can't see how God would be on board with this falsification of the truth.
Another Fable: It's Perfectly Safe
CDC, Biden, FDA continue pound us with the message that the vaccines are safe and effective. While the evidence says anything but.
Consider VAERS; the Vaccine Adverse Effect Reporting System, overseen by the FDA and CDC. The current reported deaths due to the vaccine are 15,386, while heart attacks are at 27,191, strokes 1,692, and miscarriages 1,648. Then consider that these number are generally underreported and they represent about 20% of the actual incidents.
Not to mention that this vaccine is experimental: there's no way at this point we can know the long-term effects.
To inform us that it's safe, then again, is just a bald-face lie. And a scary one at that. Coming right from the mouth of our POTUS.
It's utterly preposterous to think a God who's nature is reflected in an abhorrence for deceit and a love for truth would be party to anything related to this vaccine. Governor Hochul, in claiming this to be the case, has provided us with a good laugh.
Jesus the Sophisticate?!
It doesn't take long to page through scripture and get an idea of who Jesus is. He healed blind beggars, lepers, cripples. He loathed displays of snobbery and arrogance (Luke 18: 9-14) and sided with the humble and simple (Mark 12: 41-44), and he himself camped out in meadows (Luke 9:58). He thought the in-crowed was a facade; a mirage he wanted nothing to do with (Luke 11:43) and cautioned his disciples against his delusion (Luke 12:1-3). He sided with the persecuted (John 8 1-11) and was deeply invested in people who were shunned by society (John 4).
He says Mathew 25 that he'll judge our own conduct by the same criteria: how did we treat the stranger, the sick, the prisoner, and the hungry in our midst?
Throughout all four Gospels, we consistently see a person who stands in radical solidarity with those on the margins.
Consider the two-tiered society that is breaking out in the world today due to vaccines.
The unvaccinated are unable to eat in public anymore in places like San Francisco. People who object to the vaccine on religious grounds are losing work in droves. Families are excluding their unvaccinated members from even entering their homes. And others go out of their way to sling feces into the faces of the unvaccinated.
The hatred, as I said before, is venomous and palpable. I'll go ahead and just repeat this little gem from Wendy Molyneaux's essay in McSweeney's that I included in a previous post:
for god’s sake, get your fucking ass out of your chair, go to the fucking pharmacy, and get a fucking vaccine, you absolute conscienceless fucking fuck fuck fuck. Get it. Get the fucking vaccine. Fuck you. Fuck fuck fuck. Fuck. Fuck you. Fuck!
Society is also becoming overtly classist. Obama just held a party with a (I'm using White House correspondent Annie Karni's words) “sophisticated, vaccinated” crowd, where no one but the servants wore masks. And Kate Mulvey just wrote a piece on why she's “disinviting her unvaccinated friends to her dinner parties.”
To be vaccinated means you're in the in-crowd. You're running with the right people. You're party to all the dinner parties.
Where would Jesus choose to take a seat in this setting? At a swank party on Martha's Vineyard, pushing back highballs served to him by a faceless masked servant? Or clinking glasses in the milieus of Mulveny's set, once she's purged the unclean from her midst?
To think someone who sides with the most marginalized, spit-upon, and despised members of society would be caught dead in these exclusive, elitist environments belies a fundamental misunderstanding of Scripture.
An Unknown God
They're comically non-sensical, these claims that vaccinations are part and parcel to being Christian. No one with a rudimentary knowledge of Scripture could fall for it.
But this begs the question: who IS this god who Governor Hochul has genuflected to and communes with?
I can identify some of his characteristics. He deals in deceit, and isn't at all into freedom.
Maybe it's the god the Greeks built a temple to at the Areopagus. But I don't want to jump to conclusions. Since she's eager to preach about him, I'd like for her to apologize still further: what is the theology behind this god?
Because we're certainly not seeing the last of him. It's good to know what we're up against.
