Society Teeters on the Brink of Barbarism, and the Church is Where?

We can consider how men of our blood carried on before the Church created Christendom. What we chiefly discover is this: that in the realm of morals one things stands out, the unquestioned prevalence of cruelty in the unbaptized world.

--Hilaire Belloc, The Great Heresies

Christendom is gone—we are in an Apostolic Age.

--Archbishop Sample, of the Archdiocese of Portland, speaking on October 9th, 2021

The covid-19 pandemic has produced lavish decrees from the State that have been promulgated from podiums across all facets of culture and society.

Here are several, in no particular order.

1. The Vaccine is the all-hailed, singular elixir to the pandemic. It is perfectly safe. You shall not recommend any strange, repurposed drugs beside it for treating covid-19.

The real doctors agree with this edict. Doctors who say otherwise are conspiracy theorists, including Dr. Robert Malone, the inventor of mRNA vaccine technology.

2. You shall not use words that dispute the first edict, or that cast aspersions onto the origins of this virus, including "China" and "Wuhan".

3. Your vaccination is the seal that gives you entrée into restaurants, cultural events, federal employment, and exclusive, sophisticated society. Keep it holy.

4. Honor the CDC and the FDA. What they say, goes.

Including when they explicitly state a drug which has had 3.7 billion doses administered to humans since 1987 should be used exclusively for horses.

5. Any killing resulting from the first edict is permissible.

The CDC forbids hospitals from administering a drug that's perfectly safe and has shown, in 65 studies, to significantly decrease death when used in early treatment. Hospitals must rather, as a policy, send home patients in the early stages of covid, untreated, to incubate. They are to be admitted into ICU only when the virus has advanced to the point that their lips are blue and they must be on defibrillators to stay alive.

The president imposes de facto vaccine mandates onto all US citizens, while FDA-overseen VAERS reports a minimal estimate of 17,619 deaths from the vaccine, as of October 30th, 2021.

6. You shall not comfort anyone injured by the vaccine, nor have any mercy on them.

Those injured by the vaccine (86,542 hospitalized, 27,277 permanently disabled, 2,712 miscarriages, 8,656 heart attacks, 10,956 myocarditis as of October 30th, 2021), shall not discuss their injuries amongst each other on any online forums

No pharmaceutical companies or government agency shall provide them with any compensation

The MSM shall silence the injured who attempt to speak out

7. Let the sun set on your anger at the unvaccinated. Furthermore, drown your anger in kerosine, set it on fire and stoke it until it's a pulsating ball of delusion, madness and rage

To this end, the president said, “For the vast majority of you who have gotten vaccinated, I understand your anger at those who haven’t gotten vaccinated” and McSweeney's printed the article "Oh my Fucking God, Get the Fucking Vaccine Already, You Fucking Fucks" by Wendy Molyneux.

8. You, and the government ruling over you, shall overtly and aggressively bear false witnesses when the lie serves to enforce the first edict.

To this end: deny, reduce, and minimize all vaccine-related injuries. Smear, crush and destroy anyone who speaks out in favor of ivermectin.

9. Pay homage to science. “Science” in this context excludes anything that violates the first edict and finds repurposed drugs to be useful in early treatment against covid-19.

To that end, systematic reviews and control trials only conditionally fall under the umbrella of “science”.

10. Reason as a child.

With respect to masks, blindly follow the edicts of federal law and your governor when they say to wear one at all times, regardless of what studies tell you

With respect to covid survivors, get vaccinated even though your antibodies are stronger than the vaccine.

With respect to hydroxychlorquine, know that even mentioning or going anywhere near that drug, however helpful it might be toward treating covid, means you're a sorry piece of Trump-supporting, Bible-thumping, trailer trash.

Christendom's Death Rattle

The decrees of the pandemic unequivocally corroborate Sample's assertion that Christendom is over. Fundamental precepts of Christianity no longer carry any weight within governments or secular society.

Paul tell us “not to let the sun set on you anger” in Ephesians 4:26; our president stokes and encourage anger. The 5th Commandment forbids killing; government mandates permit and perpetuate it. The 8th Commandment forbids lying; government agencies lie to us in spades--flagrant, blatant lies.

Jesus identifies himself with the sick, telling us to comfort them in Matthew 25, our government denies the existence of anyone suffering from grave and debilitating injuries due to the vaccine.

What has replaced a Christian-based society?

A state that lies to its citizens, kills them, and crushes them.

And the citizens, en masse, pay homage to it!

The blasé reaction from society to these vaccine injuries and deaths bespeaks something not unlike the cruelty that Belloc hailed as the hallmark of an unbaptized society.

More Like a Slumbering Age

But is Sample accurate to claim that modern Christians stack up against those of the Apostolic Age?

Consider how Paul recounted his discipleship in his second letter to the Corinthians:

Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I passed a night and a day on the deep; on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, danger from robbers, dangers from my own race, dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many sleepless nights, through hunger and thirst, through frequent fasting, through cold and exposure.

And who, in the midst of these trials, maintained that:

If I preach the gospel, this is no reason for me to boast, for an obligation has been imposed on me, and woe to me if I do not preach it!  --1 Corinthians 9:16

Are we witnessing anything akin to this zeal? Anything akin to a tornado, unrelentingly proclaiming the Kingdom of God in the face of mass suffering, opposition, and persecution?

As for myself, I am having a VERY hard time accepting the realities of this pandemic.

Several times a day I find myself saying, “I can't BELIEVE the FDA is lying about ivermectin! I can't BELIEVE social media shadow bans all the studies on repurposed drugs in early treatment! I can't BELIEVE they don't care about all of these people injured from the vaccine. I can't BELIEVE people behave so hatefully towards the unvaccinated, especially given that it's unsafe an unnecessary.”

Every day, something else adds to the disbelief.... “I can't BELIEVE they'd recommend the vaccine on a subset of the population that's essentially immune to the virus (children)....particularly knowing that many, many more injuries will result as a consequence!”

I'm perpetually flabbergasted. And this disbelief belies an underlying assumption: that the state, naturally, would uphold Christian precepts. That these precepts are in fact cornerstones to the structure and organization of our society.

While the reality staring me in the face emphatically says otherwise.

So, no, I'm certainly no tornado. My mental state is one of plain, old fashioned cognitive dissonance.

And when I look around at my day-to-day, I see Christians lost in a spiritual malaise. SO MANY have capitulated and gotten the jab, and think it's the caring and Christian thing to do.

They've so much conflated the church and state that they genuinely think following the edicts from our government means we're safely wrapped in a fuzzy bear hug from our Lord and Savior.

I actually heard one of my mom's Church friends say, “Biden is going to take care of us all with this vaccine.”

And, sadly, I don't see that the laity, on balance, amount to anything more than a naive old woman with one foot in the grave.

As for the leadership: My priest prays for his congregation to get vaccinated. The bishops push for it. The Vatican, apparently, is firing people who aren't

I could hardly imagine a Church less like the Christians of the Apostolic Age.

The Apostles were slaying the dragon, head on. This Church is so lost in the sauce it doesn't recognize a beast at all.

Worse yet, they're actively facilitating the takeover of this anti-Christian society.

Awaken the Sleeping Giant

Had Sample spoken more accurately, he would have said: “Christendom is over. We're in dire need of an Apostolic Age.”

The perpetuation of this situation, as it currently stands, spells disaster. The state poses a threat akin to that which Pope Pius XI wrote of in his 1937 encyclical, Divini Redemptoris, in reference to Bolshevik Communism:

This modern revolution, it may be said, has actually broken out or threatens everywhere, and it exceeds in amplitude and violence anything yet experienced in the preceding persecutions launched against the Church. Entire peoples find themselves in danger of falling back into a barbarism worse than that which oppressed the greater part of the world at the coming of the Redeemer.

Indeed, with the FDA's cruel perpetuation of these harmful vaccines, even to the point of inflicting them on the youngest and most innocent in our society, it's fair to say we've already fallen back into this barbarism.

But there's no reason things won't become much, much worse.

Why? Because nothing is stopping it!

In order to stop this rough beast, moving its slow thighs toward larger magnitudes of cruelty and discord, the Church must become a social force.

Everyday Christians, en masse, need to acknowledge and accept that now more than ever, discipleship means being beaten, stoned, spit upon. That it means toil and hardship, hunger and thirst.

And yet, like Paul, maintain that an obligation is imposed on us to bring the Kingdom to the world—and that we're in fact liable to punishment if we do not.

It's time to usher in an Apostolic Age.

And You?

What is your take?

What steps would the laity take for the Church to become a social force? And do you see signs of this sleeping giant awakening?
